During my tenure as Director of International Architecture for Coach, I design many boutiques around the world, including the China flagship store at Hong Kong Plaza, Shanghai. This store marked the first significant shift in design for Coach in many years. The 2 story, 11,000 square foot boutique featured a large façade of steel and back-lite glass block. This façade was major engineering challenge, but it proved hugely successful both in terms of brand identity and positive customer reaction. The interior featured a rich mix of wood, steel & brick that communicated the heritage & urban roots of the Coach brand.
