Completed in 2020, Widow's Walk was a fascinating exercise in editing. The project was to renovate, restore, create useful additions and edit the many disjointed aspects of this cabinet of curiosities house. The existing house consisted of an original fisherman's cottage, 3 additions dating across 6 generations and the remains of an odd "Widow's Walk" - the towers often built along New England's coast for the wives of Sailors to await their loved ones fated returns. This house's widow's walk was itself lost at sea, as the Hurricane of 1938 blew it, and much of the surrounding area, into the Long Island Sound. The resulting home is a delicate mixture of old & new, added & subtracted.
